Arrival at School
While some teachers are in the building earlier, supervision of the school does not commence until 8.30am. This means that students who arrive before 8.30am are not supervised in any way and are therefore at risk. Parents are asked to ensure that as far as possible, students do not arrive before this time, as the school cannot guarantee their supervision.
Departure from School
At the end of the day students are expected to leave the school grounds promptly. Only students participating in organised sports practice or other school-organised activities may remain at the school.
Attendance and Punctuality
We take seriously the responsibility of checking up on the whereabouts of students who are late or who are away from school for no apparent reason.
Please help us to help you by following these procedures if your child is away or late for school:
- Notes, written and signed by the parent, should be sent to the student's class teacher on the day following any absence, stating clearly the reason for absence. A telephone call to the school office on the first day of absence would greatly assist attendance checking, particularly if the absence is likely to be of more than two days duration;
- Students who are late in the mornings must report to the general office. Lateness should also be explained with a note or a telephone call. Repeated lateness is viewed seriously;
- Students who wish to leave the school during the day must bring either a signed note or an appointment card, and must sign the Leave Book in the general office before leaving, and when returning on the same day;
- Student Planners can/should be used to communicate between home and school.
