School Goals
The goals of the school are designed to maximise the effectiveness of the school’s teaching and learning programs and underpin the development of school policies and programs providing a foundation for decision-making within the school.

- Build self-esteem for each student
- Develop mutually supportive personal relationships between staff and students
- Provide a learning environment that will foster good relationships between students, teachers and parents
- Provide a broad general education for all students in each year
- Emphasise active participation, pride in performance and success, rather than content coverage
- Enable students to become independent learners
- Ensure students have high-level skills in Information Communication Technology
- Create an atmosphere whereby staff can find fulfilment in, and recognition for, what they are doing
- Provide opportunities for parents to become involved in decision-making about their children's learning
- Provide the opportunity for students to develop their aesthetic capacity in both the expressive and practical arts

Through the Tasmanian Curriculum Framework the school strives to develop students to be:
- Inquiring and reflective thinkers, able to reason, question, make decisions and solve complex problems. As reflective thinkers they will be able to make ethical decisions about issues, events and actions.
- Effective communicators, able to create, communicate and convey ideas clearly and confidently, using the full range of symbolic systems. They will interact critically with communications created by others, interpreting linguistic, numerical and graphic information with judgement.
- Self-directed and ethical people, having a positive vision for themselves and their futures, acting with moral autonomy and contributing to constructive futures for themselves and others.

The goals and objectives of the school are well supported by a curriculum which ensures that the formal work done within the school provides a valuable, broad, general education for all students.
