Rose Bay High Celebrates
50 Years 2011

Rose Bay is a medium sized comprehensive high school in Lindisfarne, a suburb of Hobart only 10 minutes from the CBD.   The school’s current enrolment is 690 students.

The school has a strong, non negotiable commitment to quality teaching and learning programs as well as social justice issues, these are evidenced in our various programs - supportive school environment, inclusive education, pastoral care, restorative justice practices, peer support, school camps, outdoor education, alternative programs and student representative activities.

Rose Bay High School aims to be a caring school where the worth of every individual is valued and enhanced through the creation and operation of a mutually supportive relationship between teachers, parents and students. We believe that parents play an integral part in the education of their children and we encourage and welcome the active participation of all parents in our school programs.

The school believes strongly in providing opportunities for students to extend their intellectual talents as far as possible and in enhancing their capacity to exercise control over their lives. We aim to create opportunities for students to develop greater autonomy, to assume responsibility for their own actions and to extend their leadership qualities.

The school offers a comprehensive curriculum, has high academic expectations and has excellent facilities for teaching and learning.
